DJ27 is a limited edition bronze sculpture. In 1988 I went to Hawaii with a friend. She took me whale watching. After about 90 minutes a 60 foot Humpback whale left the water 20 yards from the boat. This experience changed my world.
First I was scared, I thought the boat was to small and yelled lets get out of here. The lady that I was with explained to me that the whale was a intelligent gentle creature. That it would not harm us. For 10 day after that day I was on a boat and saw whales, sea turtles, dolphins and all kinds of marine life. "Humphrey" is a piece that has life and motion. One that truly reminds me of that day.

The bronze sculptures are lost wax. Done in a foundry and the coloring is not paint. The coloring is patina. Applied with heat it causes a reaction to the copper in the bronze. The we put a clear coat that will keep it from changing or aging.
